5 Things Australia is Famous For

Australia is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations, and with good reason. Here is a brief list of some of the things in store for you if you chose to make this amazing place.

Beaches

This kind of goes without saying, given that Australia is a large island. The beaches in this country are second to none and you have what looks like an endless choice of beach or to the head. Beaches in cities and towns are popular and will often be crowded with amateur surfers and city people looking to cool off on the weekend. Sydney is packed with great beaches such as Bondi and Coogee, which are popular with backpackers and Byron Bay is famous for its hippy feel and great beaches, especially if you want to lern how to surf. There are also plenty of village beaches to choose from, and if you have the means to reach them, you find that you are only one there. Cactus Beach in South Australia is a great example of pretty much off the beaten track. If you plan on spending some time in Australia, remote beaches are just excuses to buy their own car to reach them.

barbecues

, saying: 'Throw another shrimp on the Barbie' is not known for no reason - Australians love their barbecue, and claim that they do science. Add to that some of the world's finest beef and you have a recipe for a fantastic meal of barbecue. Grills in Australia is usually as much about booze as they are about food, and almost always turn out to be a big party.

passion for the sport

I doubt that any other country in the world gets in your sporting event quite the same way as Australia does not. Australians support team to the next level and at national and international level. People will get just as excited to offer more support for their local Australian football teams as they will for the Olympic athletes. If you have the opportunity to visit Australia during major sporting events, you can be sure it will be a lot of people in pubs watching and cheering on their country. Or, if you are able to land tickets for local events like rugby, cricket or Aussie rules, make sure you take a chance. Make it more fun to choose sides and root for, and you will experience a friendly Aussie sporting rivalry firsthand.

wilderness camp

Australia is a huge country and the scenery is varied. Camping is a fantastic way to explore Australia's nature and explore some of the more rural towns and meet the locals set up outside the city. Camping is another compelling reason to buy a car and often, Backpackers, leaving the country will sell their car with camping equipment included. If you can meet locally with little knowledge and 4x4 transport, then even better as it will really be able to get out there. If you do not have your own equipment or transportation, there are plenty of companies out there that offer camping tours. There are even camps along the road between Melbourne and Adelaide, where you can hand feed wild kangaroos.

people

Australians are among the most open and friendly in the world and if you get away from the tourist trail got even better. Aussies love to party and if you are able to make some local friends are sure to be in for some crazy nights, whether it be partying till dawn in Sydney or the title of the bachelor and spinster-a (B & S) the ball in the country. Australians can handle your alcohol, so unless you want to end up praying in a toilet in the morning, it is not advisable to try to keep up with them.
